Seattle-Pécs Sister City Association

 Summer Student Program

What is the SPSCA Summer Student Program?

We started the SPSCA Summer Student Program in cooperation with the City of Pécs and the University of Pécs in 1998. Our primary aims with this program are to: give the possibility to some Pécs university students every year to expand their knowledge about Seattle, to broaden their professional experience, and to familiarize them with the American way of life. The program is now run by the SPSCA and the Medical School of the University of Pécs.

What do we offer?

The program consists of professional meetings relevant to the students' field, sightseeing in the Seattle area, touring national parks and beaches, (Mt. Rainier, Lopez Island, Ellensburg area), visiting the best-known and influencial local companies (Starbucks, Microsoft, Boeing), going to sport events and last, but not least, meeting members of the local Hungarian community. The program covers 50% of the students' airfare and 100% of the costs incurred during the Seattle stay, including accomodation with Hungarian families.

What do you need to participate?

To participate in this program you must be a Pécs university student or a recently graduate and must have a good command of the English language. In addition, you need to fill the application form and submit  2 essays chosen among the three given topics.
